New Look and British Birdfair!

Following on from the Drunkbirder and the Leicester Llama I have changed the format and the design of the blog.
What do people think of it and hope you like it?
Also over the weekend I will be at the British Birdfair at Rutland Water, so come along and say hello to me and the Drunkbirder as we will be manning the LROS stand in marquee 2 on Saturday afternoon?

Like the look of the blog. Feels back to front but maybe that is my artist brain!
Thanks for your comment re my Barn Owl painting. They have to be one of my favourite subjects. I was in Botswana in July and saw some wonderful Pearl Spotted Owlets and the huge Verreaux's Eagle Owl......what is the difference between an Owlet and Owl?? The Pearl Spotted was adorable.

Burnt tip Orchid Fly Orchid Frog Orchid As I had the week off from University and work commitments, I made a quick trip to Derbyshire to check out a number of Orchid sites. Parking my car not far from the first site near Cromford I was soon climbing the steep hillside to get into the quarry. In the quarry bottom, I found straight the way a good number of Fly and Frog Orchids . Counting the Orchids there must have been thirty Frog Orchids in a small area of the quarry bottom and at least forty Fly Orchids in the surrounding area. As you would expect I took a good number of photos of these good looking Orchids. Although this trip was to look for Orchids, I did note that the quarry had three singing Redstarts, which would have been fantastic for my home county of Leicestershire! Moving up to the higher section of the quarry I found another twenty Fly Orchids, five Frog Orchids and a couple of Common Twayblades.
